The Department of “Maritime and Business Services” of the University of the Aegean and the Department of “Industrial Design and Production Engineering” of the University of West Attica are organizing the Inter-Institutional Postgraduate Studies Program (PSP) entitled “New Technologies in Shipping and Transportation” .
The Postgraduate Program awards a Postgraduate Diploma in New Technologies in Shipping and Transportation with two specializations :
- Operational Management in Shipping and Supply Chain – Logistics
- Technology and Automation in Shipping and Transportation
The Inter-Institutional Master’s Degree Program on “New Technologies in Shipping and Transportation” aims at the use of new automation technologies as well as modern management methods in the management of ships and shipping operations.
Upon completion of the Program, Shipping Executives will be able to utilize, for the benefit of the shipping industry, the modern tools and methodologies offered by the sciences of management, information technology, communications and control systems.
The title and content of the program are innovative and pioneering internationally , for the following reasons:
- It combines hard (automation, machine systems) & soft technology (software, databases), for the design, analysis and development of applications in the field of transportation and shipping.
- It contains courses in management, transportation, business operations and maritime economics for a comprehensive, integrated education.
- The total duration of the study program is 18 months and includes three (3) semesters: a basic semester, a specialization semester and a thesis semester.
- The structure of the curriculum facilitates its follow-up and is aimed at a wide range of university graduates with a wide range of specializations.
- The purpose of the postgraduate program is to train and educate high-level executives in the fields of maritime operations management, supply chain and automation who will be employed in the maritime industry or in transportation more broadly.
